Mount Fuji is one of the tallest mountains in the world. The ice-capped mountain is highly valued by locals. The mountain is visited by tourists every year. This mountain is located in an large island in Japan known to the world as Honshu. The elevation of the mountain is 3776m. The mountain is located about 60 miles (100km) west of Tokyo-Yokohama metropolitan area. It is the major feature of Fuji- Hakone- Izu National Park. Every year, at least a thousand people climb mount Fuji to experience the joy of climbing the tallest mountain.
This fact holds true about over 300 years of quiescence since its last eruption in 1707. Mount Fuji remains an active volcano even over 300 years of its last eruption.
